Freshine Brand Story: A Father’s Promise, A Natural Choice
When David Miller began renovating his home, he wasn’t just thinking about aesthetics—he was thinking about his young child. He wanted to create a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. That meant paying attention to every detail, especially the fabrics that would be closest to his family every day. After researching countless options, David discovered that linen—pure, natural linen—was unmatched in its softness, breathability, and eco-friendliness.
But finding high-quality linen curtains wasn’t easy. Most options on the market were either synthetic, poorly made, or lacking transparency in their sourcing. Determined to give his child the very best, David set out on a global journey to understand where true linen comes from—and how it should be made.
The Journey of Linen: From Seed to Fabric
It all begins in the fields of Europe, where flax plants, the source of linen, are grown. David visited farms in Belgium and Northern France, regions known for producing some of the finest flax in the world. There, farmers plant flax seeds in spring, allowing them to grow with minimal water and zero pesticides—making flax one of the most sustainable crops on Earth.
After around 100 days, the flax is ready for harvest. Instead of cutting it, the entire plant is pulled from the ground, preserving the full length of the fibers. Then comes retting, a natural fermentation process that loosens the fibers from the stalk using morning dew and natural microbes in the soil. Once retted, the flax is dried, combed, and spun into yarn—without harsh chemicals.
David worked with textile partners who could trace every fiber back to the field it was grown in. This level of transparency ensures that every inch of linen used in Freshine curtains is not only safe for families—but kind to the planet.
Freshine: Simplicity, Sustainability, and Service
Inspired by what he learned, David built an automated curtain factory to simplify the production process. What once took weeks now takes days. With just a few clicks online, customers can select their style, input measurements, and receive tailor-made curtains delivered to their door—crafted with the same care David demanded for his own home.Freshine was born out of a father’s love and a passion for sustainability.
