What is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100?

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is a globally recognized certification for textile safety. It verifies that fabrics and relevant textile components have been tested for harmful substances and meet strict safety standards.

For curtains, shades, and other home textiles, this certification helps ensure that the materials used are safer for everyday environments such as bedrooms, nurseries, and living spaces.

What does “Class I” mean?

Product Class I is the strictest category in the OEKO-TEX® certification system. It is designed for textile products intended for babies and children up to 3 years old, with especially strict testing for harmful substances.

It also includes additional requirements such as saliva resistance and skin compatibility, making it a trusted standard for sensitive spaces and family-focused homes.

Certification Scope

  • Bleaching and dyeing, including disperse, cationic, and reactive dye processes
  • Finishing treatments such as softening, antibacterial finishing, water repellency, oil repellency, stain repellency, and soil-release treatments
  • Use of OEKO-TEX® approved biologically active products

In essence, the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label means textiles you can trust. It shows that applicable materials have been independently tested for harmful substances and verified to meet recognized safety standards.
